Dude is a 12 yo papered Tennessee Walker gelding. His gaited trot is smooth as butter, and he easily transitions into a lope. He neck reins and responds beautifully under saddle. He does not like a standard bit bridle but does great with a bosal or bitless. We believe this has more to do with his ears than his mouth. His ears are full of equine warts and while they don't seem to bother him, he is not the biggest fan of you touching them. We think he would do best being pastured with geldings, as when mares are in heat, he gets excited. He also seems to tag one mare as "his". He is not dangerous in any way, but he does respond more actively to mares than your standard gelding does. Maybe he was proud cut, maybe it's just his personality, we don't know, but it is something to be aware of. With that being said, we do keep him in a mixed pasture, and he does not show any excitement towards mares while under saddle! Easy to catch, stands tied, does well for the farrier, stands to be saddled and loads great.
Currently, he is at a kid's summer camp and doing great with the campers. Check out our countdown to see when he will be back on site and ready for his forever home!
*He's back and ready!*
